2 down 1 to go…

This is a big day.

I mean it…it’s a really big day!

I officially have 2 boys out of diapers!  Brady is potty trained!mas memoirs 2 down 1 to go…

Just one to go.

I can’t believe it, I’m thrilled, beyond tickled!  Then my euphoric joy starts to dissipate.  The glee of saving thousands of dollars on diapers, and dealing with my last 3 1/2 year old’s diapers that literally stink like an Airbus 320′s bathroom after a cross country flight subsides as I’m struck by the fear of all that I remember when my darling little Keegan first got housebroken.  Come on now, you know what I’m talking about…

I’m talking about the constant, “Do you have to go potty?”

“Are you sure you don’t have to go potty?”

“Do you want to try and go potty before we leave?”

“Come on, let’s go potty before we get in the car.”

All of which are always rebuffed with a resounding, “NO!” Especially by Brady.  This is of course until we get to the car, in the car, in the car seats, all three buckled in for safety, car on, DVD playing, pulling out into a lane of traffic only to hear…

“Mommy, I have to go potty.”

Followed quickly by…

“I have to go potty…NOW!”

This is enough to drive me to drink, well to drink at 12 noon.  So the I have to go now bit coupled with the extra set of clothes I now have bring everywhere again is making me a bit batty.  Now I know this is just a stage and it will pass, tell me this…why on earth does Brady have to take off every stitch of clothes every time he runs to the potty?

This, I must admit, is a new one for me.  But we’re hoping this too, is just a stage…and since he refuses to put the clothes back on, so are the neighbors!

Save that photo for his wedding day!!
I am imagining his look when the slide show plays and we all crack up.
He will only refrain from coming after me because I am his dad :)
