Hoggies in a Sleeping Bag

dinner Hoggies in a Sleeping Bag

Serves: 4                        Prep time: 10 minutes                        Cook time: 15 minutes

FOR THE HOGGIES:

1 large                                    turkey kielbasa

½ c                                     shredded cheese

½ c                                    red pepper, sliced thinly

1 can                                    crescent dinner rolls

FOR THE SAUCE:

½ c                                     ketchup

¼ c                                    mustard

2 T                                    brown sugar

1 t                                    garlic powder

3 T                                    red wine vinegar

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.  Cut your turkey kielbasa in half, then into fourths, set aside.  Unroll your crescent rolls being careful to leave your squares intact, using 2 triangles for each hoggie.  Set one square down on a cutting board.  Sprinkle with cheese and lay strips of red pepper down on the right side of the square.  Place one piece of kielbasa on top of the cheese and red pepper.  Pull the right side up over the kielbasa hoggie and roll toward the other side covering him up in his sleeping bag.  Repeat with other pieces.

Bake on 400 for 10-13 minutes until golden brown on top.  Serve with steamed veggies and sauce for dipping.

Noteworthy Nugget:  This is a big serving of hoggies.  If you have smaller eaters you can cut your kielbasa into 8ths and then wrap each one with one individual crescent roll.  If you have big eatin’ boys like mine, make it just the way it is!
