So Chic Sushi Rolls
| Serves: 4 Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 0 minutes 4 whole Spinach sandwich wraps Cooking Instructions: Lay out the wraps on your cutting board. Spread just a thin layer of mayo or mustard over the wrap to help everything stick. Lay half of the rice down into the center of one of the wraps and press it out so it thinly covers the center of the wrap. Do the same for the second. Evenly distribute your chicken between the two wraps laying it in an even row over the rice. Be sure to keep it in a single line. Follow suit with your carrots, red pepper, sprouts and avocado. Now fold in the right section of your wrap over the ingredients and slightly pull then back toward you, then continue to roll over and make your self a tube. Cut your tube into sushi roll looking slices. You can cut them straight or on an angle then arrange them on a plate. Serve these with edamame or even edamame chips! You’ll have your kids yelling Arigato. My kids LOVE the sushi restaurant so this was a way for me to make them “sushi” at home (way cheaper by the way) and give them a special treat in their lunch boxes at school. |

Very healthy! I tried a similar recipe with hummus instead of mayo and whole grain rice instead of white.
These are delicious if I do say so myself. I just made them AGAIN for lunch!
I know my kids will love these in their lunch boxes, but I’m going to make extra because I’ll eat them for lunch too! Great idea. You guys definitely need to be on TV!
i found you on SITS. I am the first to admit I don’t cook much and will probably never make the “sushi” although they look delicious. But what a laugh watching you make them with the kids. The mayo eater had me crying I was laughing so hard and the random shots to Cooper, oblivious to it all…seemingly anyway.
You really should you tube them if you don’t already.
Following you on twiiter now
I love love love this recipe. Im adding this website to my favs. I love how there is video tutorials too since Im a visual learner. Thanks for visiting me today at my blog.
So good, I love this!
Thanks for the great idea!
Wow! What a yummy recipe! Stopping by from SITS! Have a wonderful Christmas!
I’m not a fish fan – but this sushi sounds yummo!! Merry Christmas!
That looks so good! And your kids are adorable! I was cracking up when the kid kept eating the mayo! Eww! He finally started eating a carrot, so that’s good! *lol* Thank you for sharing! I am going to have to check back often and see what other ideas you have.
LOL your kids are so cute!
Thanks for sharing.
Merry SITSmas from Cairo!
The video is hilarious *L* I don’t like the seaweed wrap around normal sushi, so this is a fabulous idea!
I really enjoyed your video. I still don’t think I am ready for sushi.
Merry SITSmas!
YUM!!! This looks GREAT! Stopping by from SITS!
Looks yummy but I don’t eat sushi or fish of any kind.
Stopping by from SITS. Have a great holiday
I should try this out =D
Merry Christmas ~
Coming from the SITS
Yummy – I’m thinking I gotta try this – thanks for sharing SITSta!
I don’t have kids, but I would be so curious to see if I could get my nephew to try this!
Oh my gosh what a wonderful idea! I can’t wait to make this and share this blog with my friends! Your boys are precious.
I babysit my great niece (17 months) everyday and she is a bit finicky about what she eats. Her parents are very into healthy eating and organic…and the baby is like..”um yeah right” I am certain she will love this and so will her parents. I am making your blog one of my favorites!
Stopping by from SITS. My son loves sushi, it’s one of the first thing he gets when we go to a Chinese food resraunt. Thanks for sharing this simple idea for sushi, I think I might even eat this kind of sushi!
This is a great idea that I will try. I think when the kids make it themselves they will try it and probably like it. Your kids are cute. Kathi
Sounds like something I’d actually eat (except the avacado!) When I saw sushi I almost didn’t read it because I don’t like sushi!
Stopping in from sits
Yum,this inspired me to make my own variation. It was terrific last night – next time I’ll make it in the morning, it didn’t do too well over night;-( I think I’ll just bring my fav ingredients to work and make it on the spot! I used spinache artichoke hummas and WOW it was great. I forgot about the rice. . . I like that you can do SO many variations! I can’t wait to see all your other recipies!
