When you’ve been out with the kids either sledding or at the playground…

Why not warm up with some homemade Hot Cocoa when you get home??!!

WHAT YOU NEED:

2 cups Instant Nonfat Dried Milk

¾ cup sugar

½ cup Unsweetened Cocoa

3/4 cup non-dairy creamer

1 t salt

mini marshmallows

WHAT TO DO:

In a large bowl combine dried milk, sugar, cocoa,  non dairy creamer, and salt.  Mix well.  Add 2  T into a mug with 8 oz of hot water.  Stir.  Enjoy.  Top with mini marshmallows.  Keep the rest in a large mason jar or ziploc bag for cool winter nights.

Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake

Serves:  12 (but if my hubs is involved then it serves 1)

Prep time: 10 minutes  Cook time: 50 minutes

Butter, for greasing pan, plus 2 sticks butter, melted and divided

1 package store bought chocolate cake mix

3 eggs

1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened

3 T cocoa powder

1 16 oz box powdered sugar

1 t vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Lightly grease a 13 x9 inch baking pan. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and 1st stick of melted butter, and stir until well blended. Pat mixture into prepared pan and set aside. In a stand mixer beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the remaining 2 eggs, and the cocoa powder.holidays   Chocolate Gooey Butter CakeLower the speed of the mixer, and add the powdered sugar. Continue beating until ingredients are well mixed. Slowly add the remaining stick of melted butter, and the vanilla, continuing to beat the mixture until smooth. Stir in nuts with a rubber spatula. Spread filling over cake mixture in pan.

Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Let cake partially cool on a wire rack before cutting into pieces.
