Meet Alexandra
Alexandra Fitzpatrick was born in New York City in 1974 to acclaimed television director Jeffrey Bleckner and British actress Jeanne Hepple, and raised in Los Angeles by her mom, dad and stepmother, casting director, Susan Edelman. Alexandra attended Boston University earning a degree in broadcast journalism graduating in 1996. While at Boston University Alexandra was head manager of the ice hockey team that won the Men’s Division 1 National Championship in 1995. Alexandra continues to be an avid hockey fan.
After graduating Alex returned to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a television writer. She began her career in television as Manager of Development at Paid Our Dues Productions from 1998-2002. Alexandra assisted in developing and pitching television pilots and began work on the Lifetime series, “Any Day Now”, starring Lorraine Toussiant and Annie Potts. Alex wrote two episodes for the series that aired on Lifetime Television in collaboration with Spelling Entertainment.
Alexandra also wrote for the daytime drama Days of our Lives in 2003 and worked as Director of Development for Grand Productions from 2002-2005. While at Grand Productions the development team produced three television movies; An Unexpected Love for Lifetime, Music From the Heart for CBS, and Beauty for CBS television, along with one network pilot, The Street Lawyer, for ABC/Touchstone.
Upon the birth of her first child, Keegan, in 2005 Alex left the television industry to stay at home with her son. Alexandra then welcomed two more boys, Brady in 2006 and Cooper in 2008 and has been cooking with them ever since.
Ma, What’s For Dinner is Alexandra’s gift to her children and families everywhere. She hopes the cookbooks and DVD’s will bring as much joy to your family as the recipes and experience of cooking have done for her, Keegan, Brady, and Cooper. Alexandra also hopes that the series will be a catalyst for moms, dads, and families everywhere to start cooking and bonding in their kitchens creating great food, lifelong memories, and unforgettable moments for years to come.
Alexandra resides in Southern California with her husband Joe, their three boys, and two Bullmastiffs, Guinness and Killians.
